Christian Values

At The Stony Brook School, integrating Christian values and faith in education is the foundational cornerstone of our identity and mission.

Our founding headmaster, Frank E. Gaebelein said, “Education without character is a dangerous thing.” This sentiment resonates deeply with Proverbs 22:6, which states, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

By imbuing aspects of our curriculum with Christian principles and teachings, The Stony Brook School instills in its students a moral compass, Character Before Career, that will help guide their actions and decisions throughout their lives.

This approach to education not only cultivates intellectual growth but also nurtures the development of virtuous character, echoing the biblical injunction to seek wisdom and understanding as found in Proverbs 4:7.

"The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding."

Proverbs 4:7

Moreover, the emphasis on Christian values at The Stony Brook School fosters a sense of community and belonging, where students are encouraged to live out their faith in service and love to others. Through service projects, outreach initiatives, and other initiatives, students learn to embody the teachings of Christ and become compassionate leaders who seek to make a positive impact in the world.

By integrating faith into education, Stony Brook equips its students not only with academic knowledge but also with the moral courage and spiritual fortitude to navigate the complexities of life with grace and integrity.
