After a resilient journey, the BrookX rocketry team achieved a new milestone in the STEM competition. A team with all underclass members managed to travel thousands of miles and spent hundreds of hours testing and launching rockets in Connecticut and Upper New York.
With the Motto, “Assertiveness, Resilience, and Collaboration”, we dared to Demand the Impossible and believe Everything is Possible. In the 2024 National Final of the American Rocketry Challenge, the largest student rocketry competition in the World, the BrookX team placed #10 in the Nation, #1 team in the state of New York, and #1 rookie team in the Nation, and won a $5,000 award prize! More importantly, Stony Brook School is now receiving an invitation from the NASA Student Launch Initiative (SLI) to design, build, and launch high-powered rockets that can travel mile-high in the sky starting in the fall of 2024.
